House Baratheon = Slightly inspired by the Germans House Tyrell = The French + Margaery appears to be inspired by Anne Boleyn abit with her being executed regarding who the queen would be House Vale of Arryn = Basically just a neutral state in the middle of it all.

House Martell - Inspired by one of the few Moorish dynasties of Spain, their nation, Dorne, is basically Medieval Gibraltar smashed into the southern most edge of Westeros. I saw a comment a while ago stating that their hair makes them based off the Irish but I don’t think so. Like you said, it takes influence from old confederacies in the rhineland or low countries regions, but it can also take influence from alot of other places. It’s THE medieval house of Game of Thrones. House Lannister of Casterly rock = House lanCaster The number of parallels that one can draw from that are near boundless.

They aren't military giants, but they control travel, either personally or through vassals. The Tullys rule the crossroads of Westerosi society. In any case, I would argue the Tullys occupy the cultural place of the "middle ground" in the midst of constantly shifting/feuding powers with greater military strength than they themselves have. They could just as easily be assigned to Silesia, Budapest, or any number of places in former Czechoslovakia, and have quite a bit in common with medieval Poland and the Marcher Lords on the border between England and Wales. That said, architecturally speaking, Riverrun is definitely a French chateau from the late-medieval to early baroque period. They are very definitely based on the Low Countries and many "German" houses, especially in the north. Like with every major house/culture in ASOIAF, the Tullys are a mish-mash of multiple real-world areas/cultures. Cracks knuckles OK, medieval history/archeology degree hoving in to comment.
